How the Backtester Works

Configure a session, replay historical candles bar by bar, place trades with real risk management and analyse your results with professional metrics.

Configure your session

Choose a symbol, timeframe, date range and starting balance. Set an optional profit target percentage so you can track your goal live as you trade. Name the session so you can find it in Previous Sessions later.

Free accounts get 3 months of data. Member accounts get up to 2 years of full history across all 12 symbols.

Replay candles bar by bar

Use the navigation buttons or keyboard shortcuts to reveal candles one at a time. The future is always hidden — exactly like real trading. Use Auto Play to speed through quiet periods with no setups.

Keyboard shortcuts: Arrow Right to advance 1 candle, Arrow Up for 10, Space to toggle Auto Play, End to jump to the final candle.

Place trades with full risk management

Open long or short positions with stop loss and take profit levels. Use the risk calculator to size your position correctly as a percentage of your balance. Tag each trade with a setup type — FVG, BOS, OB, CHoCH and more — for detailed breakdown later.

Stop loss and take profit levels are checked automatically on every new candle — no manual closing required.

Analyse your results
